Impalas lose close game to Chicago Southside Irish

April 1, 2015

The Impalas started off their Spring Season on a slow note by allowing a try within the opening minutes. Indy made another early mistake trying to force a pass that led to an interception and try. The first half did have some high marks as Garrick Hall provided an excellent early try. Captain John “Biscuit” Brumleve rumbled in for a late first half try as well. Indy couldn’t capitalize as they gave up another try before the end of the half. The second half didn’t start much better as Indy gave up another early try before trading tries with the Irish. An injury to Impalas player Dan Sutton caused a delay in the middle of the second half. After Sutton was helped off the field, the Impalas players rallied for their injured teammate with Steve Okoro scoring his first try of the game and Garrick Hall scoring his third. With the game tied 31-31 in the closing moments, Indy committed a penalty 10 yards out from their try line. Southside was able to capitalize on the mistake and scored a PK to end the game at 31-34.
